Does God Exist? - The Craig vs. Hitchens Debate
Tonight we are rebroadcasting the "Does God Exist" debate between William Lane Craig and Christopher Hitchens.
Here is the promo: "Witness one of the great debates of the new millennium. What I would like to know is what you thought? Those who attended tonight's debate or found this blog another way and watched the debate, what did you find compelling or not compelling? Where do you think the evidence points? (and more importantly why?)

The debate was fabulous! I wish that the civility with which they conducted themselves could be found in the political panels on TV news programs... Overall though I was shocked that Hitchens made no attempt to refute Craig's points, and only attempted to punch holes in Christianity in general.
I am glad you enjoyed it. and I agree; we need to have these kinds of conversations without getting defensive or angry. Passionate, sure but we don't have to yell.
I too was expecting more from Hitchens. He kept appealing to the religion is dangerous argument...but all that follows from that is that humans can be dangerous and are capable of great evil...certainly it doesn't follow that God doesn't exist. I thought Craig rebutted all of his counter arguments and I think Hitchens fundamentally misunderstood the Moral and Resurrection arguments.
Also, everyone who enjoyed this debate would also enjoy the Richard Dawkins vs John Lennox (both teach at Oxford) on the God Delusion and science / belief in God. Here is the link:
